 On day 36, I took an awareness class on the topic -'Domestic Violence' as part of the conscientization programme in my B.Ed curriculum. I included various aspects including the definition, recognising signs, exploring impact on victims, discussing prevention strategies and promoting healthy relationships. On day 37, I conducted a health education class in 9th. The objective of my class was to spread awareness about mental health issues , signs and symptoms and remedies and recovery. During the 6th period I conducted a physical education class in 8th .The objective of the class was to provide information on calisthenics exercise emphasizing fitness sense of rhythm and neuromuscular coordination.  On day 30, I conducted an achievement test on the three chapters The Happiness Machine, " A Prayer in Spring " and and The Trio in 9th . It was a test paper for 25 marks and time allotted was 35 minutes . In 8, I conducted a group activity by dividing the class into four group and made each group enact a skit based on the chapter The Merchant of Venice.The four groups enacted the drama very well. On day 31 I made students write a paragraph based on the theme of the story The Merchant of Venice . This was followed by a debate session in which on the topic 'Which is the better quality- justice or Mercy' .the debate went very well . In 9th I distributed the answer papers of the previous day test paper. I discussed each questions and clarified the doubts of students .  On day 23 , I taught remaining portion of the trio in 9th by showing pictures and scenes from the film adaptation of the story. This elevated students' curiosity to know more about the theme, setting and characters of the story.  In 8th  I made student discuss the activities of the chapter The School for sympathy. On day 25, I conducted a group activity in 9th by dividing the class into four groups each group was asked to discuss and create a skit based on the story each group was made to enact the skit,while the other groups were asked to evaluate the performances . In 8 I made the students write the character sketch of Miss beam from the story The school for sympathy. On day 26 I asked students to write down their ideas regarding the three main characters.  On day 18, my optional teacher from college Bindya ma'am came for class observation . She observed my class while I taught the first two stanzas of the poem a prayer in Spring using ICT. In 8th I made students do an entry activity related to the chapter The School first sympathy on day 19 I taught the first four paragraph of the story The Trio using ICT. I made the class interesting by showing pictures related to the contexts and situations in the story. On day 20 I taught the last two stanzas of the poem A prayer in Spring . Sasikumar sir from mathematics department of PTM college came for class observations and gave valid criticism for my class I used ICT to teach and ask a lot of scaffolding questions to reinforce the concept which I taught.  It was the reopening day after Christmas vacation. In 8 I made students talk about their new year resolutions. I also took the period to provide the students with the task as part of conducting my sociometry experiment. In 9th I asked the students to write about 5 things they want to do in this year. I also made them recall the previous chapter a prayer in Spring by asking them questions. On day 15 I went to 9 and ask the students to recite the poem "A prayer in Spring". I ask them to write a paragraph on the poet's treatment of nature in the poem. I also made some students say the summary of the poem. On day 16 I started teaching the chapter the trio in 9 I gave them an entry activity and conducted link talk by introducing the author of the story.  On day 11 I made students to discuss upon the answers of the questions and the chapter a prayer in Spring I also made them write the critical appreciation of the poem. In 8 I taught the poem my grandmother's house. I used flash cards and pictures for delivery in the meanings of difficult words I also sighted some real life example to make students understand the context of the poem. On date 12 I conducted revision in a for Christmas exam I made a student work out grammar questions from previous year question papers. In 9th I conducted revision and cleared the doubts of students. On day 13 conducted revision in 9th and made the students write a diary entry profile and character sketch. I also thought them reported speech and made the workout a few questions from that section. I gave them tips for writing the exam.  On day 6 I made the students do the activities of the chapter the happiness machine by dividing them into separate groups. I also ask them to collect and write points for a debate system on the topic 'Is mobile phone a boon or curse'. On day 7 I went to 9 and conducted the debate session on the topic 'Is mobile a phone or curse'. I was the moderator and students contributed and enriched the session with their progressive ideas and sharp arguments. In 8, I taught the remaining portion of the chapter a day in the country using charts and pictures. REFLECTIVE JOURNAL - WEEK 1

 My teaching practice session as part of B.Ed  3rd semester curriculum started on 20th November 2023 in Cotton Hill Girls Higher Secondary School, Vazhuthacaud. On the first day, I reached the school at 9: 00 am and took part in the Assembly. After that I met the headmistress Usha ma'am and signed on our attendance register.we were a group of 3 Students from English optional. I was assigned with classes 8 F and 9 I. I went to 8 F during 4th period and 9 I during 5th period.
