REFLECTIVE JOURNAL -WEEK 5

 On day 18, my optional teacher from college Bindya ma'am came for class observation . She observed my class while I taught the first two stanzas of the poem a prayer in Spring using ICT. In 8th I made students do an entry activity related to the chapter The School first sympathy on day 19 I taught the first four paragraph of the story The Trio using ICT. I made the class interesting by showing pictures related to the contexts and situations in the story. On day 20 I taught the last two stanzas of the poem A prayer in Spring . Sasikumar sir from mathematics department of PTM college came for class observations and gave valid criticism for my class I used ICT to teach and ask a lot of scaffolding questions to reinforce the concept which I taught. On Day 21 I taught the first a few paragraphs of the chapter The School for sympathy in 8 I. I use glossary charts and pictures relating to the story to make the class meaningful During the sixth period I went to 9th and taught The Trio using ICT. I showed video clips relating to the story. On day 22 I taught The Trio in 9th using ICT by showing meaning pictures and video clips related to the story. I also made the students read out and enact the dialogues in the story. In 8th I taught remaining part of the story The School for sympathy. I used flash cards and pictures related to the story.


I was able to improve my classroom management skill and was able to promote critical thinking among students by making them discuss and discover the answers on their own. I also tried to use a little humour and  l fun elements for making the class interesting.In this way, I was able to seek the attention of most of my students. Using video clips  helped in promoting enhanced learning experiences for the student.
