EDUCATION TOUR REPORT

As part of 2nd semester B.Ed curriculum, we conducted an Education tour of 9 days.

Places: Meenakshi Amman Temple (Madurai)

              Taj Mahal(Agra)

              Akshardham Temple (Delhi)

Reflection 

Participating in an education tour to Delhi, Agra, and Manali has been a transformative experience, enriching both academically and personally. 

Exploring the historical landmarks in Delhi, such as the Red Fort, Lotus Temple,Qutub Minar, Akshardham Temple provided invaluable insights into India's rich cultural heritage. Witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the Taj Mahal in Agra left an indelible mark on my soul, reminding me of the timeless allure of architectural marvels.

Manali was a profoundly enriching experience that transcended mere sightseeing. The journey through the picturesque landscapes of Manali provided a refreshing break from the rigors of academic life, offering an opportunity for introspection and self-discovery amidst nature's grandeur.Trekking through verdant valleys and ascending majestic peaks instilled a sense of awe and humility, reminding me of the immense power and beauty of the natural world. Each step taken amidst the towering Himalayas seemed to echo with the whispers of ancient wisdom, prompting deep contemplation and reflection on life's mysteries.

  STORY BOARD   As part of my phase-2 teaching practice session, I created a story board for the chapter 'A Shipwrecked Sailor' from eight standard Kerala English Reader textbook. MICRO TEACHING

Microteaching helps build confidence in future educators by allowing them to practice teaching in a supportive and low-stakes setting. With regular practice, teachers can refine their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. I demonstrated the skill of reinforcement during my microteaching  session. I employed various positive reinforcement techniques such as verbal praise, encouragement, and rewards to reinforce desirable behaviors and achievements among my students. It provided me a platform  to receive constructive feedback from peers and instructors. This feedback helped me reflect on my teaching methods and make improvements.

PHASE 2-WEEK 6

Day 24 started with a morning assembly to commemorate ‘National Moon Day’. There was a role-play to spread awareness on the Chandrayaan-3 mission. HM congratulated us:- student teachers, for coordinating the role- play. In my classes, I conducted an achievement test, to evaluate the students’ overall understanding of the unit ‘Hues and Views’. Majority of students showcased average performance in the test. These tests also revealed areas where students had gaps in their knowledge or difficulties with certain concepts, allowing for targeted remediation and support. On day 25, there was an essay writing and quiz competition held in our school in association with celebrating ‘National Moon Day.’ In my classes, I made my students form groups and write a news report of the shipwreck incident in their story.
