REFLECTIVE JOURNAL-WEEK 6

 On day 23 , I taught remaining portion of the trio in 9th by showing pictures and scenes from the film adaptation of the story. This elevated students' curiosity to know more about the theme, setting and characters of the story.  In 8th  I made student discuss the activities of the chapter The School for sympathy. On day 25, I conducted a group activity in 9th by dividing the class into four groups each group was asked to discuss and create a skit based on the story each group was made to enact the skit,while the other groups were asked to evaluate the performances . In 8 I made the students write the character sketch of Miss beam from the story The school for sympathy. On day 26 I asked students to write down their ideas regarding the three main characters. In 8 I started teaching the chapter The Merchant of Venice by giving an overview of the author William Shakespeare . I used my innovative work -a photo album,which consisted of pictures related to the life and works of William Shakespeare. On day 28 I started teaching the chapter The Merchant of Venice by using ICT to present the meanings of difficult words and show pictures relating to the story The Trio . In 9th I made the students do the loud reading of the chapter the trio so as to understand the students competency in reading skills. On day 29 I taught the grammar - active and passive voice in 9th. I used Flashcards and charts to effectively convey the concept. I used examples involving students and instances from classroom settings to make the class interesting.


I used the method learning by Discovery especially while teaching grammar concepts. Students discovered the main concepts by observing the examples and grasping   certain patterns. I was able to promote critical thinking among Students by making them discuss and discover the answers on their own. SIghting examples from classroom settings  facilitated highly enhanced learning experiences and made the class much more interesting. I was able to promote student-orientedness by making students share their ideas and view points regarding themes of the chapter.
